My name is Jan Nolin. I live in Huntsville, Alabama, with my husband John, and our three sons. I am currently living in temporary housing with my youngest son, Michael, who is 14. Michael was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a malignant bone tumor in September of 2012. We took him to the Emergency room on Labor Day for leg pain; we just assumed it would be something simple. We never imagined that by the end of the day, the doctor would tell us that they found something suspicious and that we needed to go to an oncologist… and that we would be in Memphis the next day.
“God is a good God,” was what had been stirring in my spirit all summer last year. I was feeling so blessed. We were having a good season in life and I was grateful. But, seasons change. Through it all, I remain steadfast in my belief that God is a good God and that He loves me more than I can possibly imagine. He will never leave me, nor forsake me. He is for me, not against me. He is my strong tower. He is my deliverer. He is my portion. He is my ever-present help in time of trouble. …And I am very blessed.
